"Omar! Omar!" I woke up and flicked my bedside light on after Porcha shook me up outta my sleep.

"What's up P?"

"Hey, are you OK? I brought you a glass of water and a warm towel. I think you were having a nightmare.

I took a sip of the water and sat it down then looked at her as she sat scared at my feet.

I would have nightmares about the flashbacks of hurricane Katrina when my small family was forced to move to Texas.

"I'm sorry. Remember I told you that sometimes I have flashbacks of the storm? I hope I didn't scare you boo." I laughed and stood to make my way to the kitchen to exchange the glass of water for a warm cup of milk, so I could go back to sleep easily.

When I made it back to the bed Porcha sat with a worried look on her face.

"I drank some warm milk so, I feel better now, but thanks. Now let's lay down before the sun comes back up." I pulled her in my arms.

"Omar. You kept saying Yvette. Was that the name of your grandmother that passed?"

I was shocked that Porcha asked me that. I started to pretend snore like I had fallen back to sleep quickly.

It was only one Yvette that was dear to my heart in my lifetime.
